Today, I want to share with you the inspiring story of a famous Black American who achieved great success in education at one of the most prestigious universities in the United States.

In 1968, Angela Davis became the third Black woman to earn a PhD in philosophy from the University of California, San Diego. Her academic achievements didn’t stop there – she went on to become a professor of philosophy at UCLA, where she was known for her commitment to social justice and her advocacy for the rights of marginalized communities.

But Angela Davis didn’t just excel in academia. She was also a prominent activist and a leader in the Black Panther Party. She used her platform to speak out against institutional racism, police brutality, and other forms of oppression faced by Black Americans.
